2000
Relocation to the Inter-Diocesan Seminary on Voćarska provided AISZ with a more substantial campus, enabling meaningful program expansion and a modernized educational delivery.
2001
The American International School of Zagreb was granted formal legal recognition through a bilateral agreement between the governments of the United States of America and the Republic of Croatia - a landmark accord that continues to underpin the school's unique status and mission.
2001
AISZ made a transformative strategic commitment to developing a complete Pre-K through Grade 12 institution. Beginning with Grade 9, a new year level was added annually until the full high school program was established, setting the stage for the school's first graduating class.
2002
AISZ staged its very first musical production with a spirited performance of Annie Jr., marking the beginning of a vibrant performing arts tradition that would become a cherished cornerstone of school life.
2003
Authorization by the International Baccalaureate Organization marked a defining moment in the school's academic evolution, elevating educational rigor and ensuring global recognition for AISZ graduates pursuing leading universities worldwide.
2005
Six students comprised AISZ's inaugural graduating class, cementing the school's identity as a full-cycle educational institution. The same year, the Junior Kindergarten program was introduced for four-year-olds, welcoming its first five students and a dedicated full-time assistant.
2008
At the CEESA Speech and Debate Tournament hosted by the American International School of Budapest, AISZ students achieved a historic first-place finish, earning multiple individual medals and the prestigious Sportsmanship Award. Competing in dramatic interpretation, original oratory, debate, and public speaking events, the team demonstrated exceptional talent, confidence, and intellectual rigor. The achievement marked one of the earliest major regional academic victories in AISZ history and established a tradition of excellence in communication and critical thinking.
2009
The AISZ Middle School Knowledge Bowl team captured first place at the CEESA competition, distinguishing themselves through outstanding teamwork, quick thinking, and academic mastery across a broad range of subjects. Their success reflected the school’s growing strength in regional academic competitions and embodied the collaborative spirit that defines the AISZ community. Beyond the championship itself, students formed lasting friendships and unforgettable memories that became part of school tradition.
