1991
A second campus building opened just as Croatia declared independence. The ensuing conflict forced the evacuation and temporary closure of the school, profoundly testing the resilience and resolve of the entire AISZ community.
1992
In a testament to extraordinary perseverance, classes resumed in January with only three students at Zelengaj 6. This quiet yet courageous restart reaffirmed the school's unwavering commitment to educational continuity, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
1993
Expansion into neighboring facilities at Zelengaj 45 1A and 1B block reflected the school's renewed momentum in the post-war period. With a strengthened educational offering and a growing community, AISZ rebuilt its foundations and looked confidently toward the future.
1998
In recognition of its increasingly multinational student and staff body, the institution was renamed the American International School of Zagreb - a name that more accurately reflected its global character and spirit. Image shows the first AISZ logo.
1999
Accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) formally affirmed the school's adherence to the highest international educational standards, cementing its reputation among the world's leading international schools.
