The AISZ admissions process is designed to be thorough but straightforward. We review each application carefully and individually, and our team is on hand to guide you through every step.
All students applying to Grades 1–12 will complete a Reading and Mathematics assessment as part of the admissions process. For students applying to Grades 6–12 who are not native English speakers, an English proficiency assessment is also required. Students applying to High School (Grades 9–12) will additionally participate in an online interview. All assessments must be supervised by either AISZ or the applicant's current school.
All complete applications are reviewed on an individual basis. Families are notified within ten business days of application completion. Note that reviews during school holidays may take up to four weeks.
For the current 2026-27 school year, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with families notified within ten business days of completion.
Important note: Some grade levels have limited availability, particularly in High School. We recommend contacting the Admissions office to check current availability before beginning your application.
Applications for Grade 11 must be submitted by September 1 of the year of intended enrolment. Grade 12 applications are only accepted under extenuating circumstances, as all subjects are already in their second year of the curriculum. Students without prior IB experience joining in Grade 12 will likely be placed in Grade 11 subjects.
Priority 1 — Dependents of US Embassy staff and associated Diplomatic Missions; eligible dependents of AISZ staff; dependents of other embassies and Diplomatic Missions.
Priority 2 — Siblings of current students; expat or host country families relocating to Croatia; AISZ alumni and their children.
Priority 3 — Expat or host country students transferring from a local or international school in the greater Zagreb area.
All documents must be submitted in English as certified translations.
