Service Learning at AISZ: Connecting Curriculum with Community

Service Learning at AISZ is a dynamic teaching approach that bridges the classroom and the greater community, empowering students and staff to address real-world needs. By integrating leadership, civic responsibility, and problem-solving into our curriculum, students gain hands-on experience that deepens their understanding and enriches their education.

Aligned with AISZ’s mission to develop skills and character for futures rich with promise, our Service Learning projects inspire meaningful engagement, fostering empathy and a sense of purpose. From local initiatives to global causes, these experiences not only cultivate resilience and teamwork but also make learning more relevant and impactful, transforming students into compassionate global citizens ready to lead and make a difference.

Unity Trips: Building Bonds and Skills from Grade 4 and Beyond

At AISZ, Unity Days are an exciting part of our Outdoor Education curriculum, designed to cultivate students who are respectful, resilient, responsible, and kind. These transformative experiences, beginning in Grade 4, take learning beyond the classroom and into the great outdoors, fostering personal growth, teamwork, and a spirit of adventure.

Starting with activities like hiking, camping, and kayaking, each year’s trip builds on the previous, challenging students to grow in confidence and character. By Grade 11, students embark on the ultimate capstone experience—sailing along the Adriatic Sea. This extraordinary journey combines teamwork, navigation, and exploration, symbolizing the culmination of their Outdoor Education journey.

Unity Days aren’t just about adventure; they are about building meaningful relationships, developing life skills, and connecting with the natural world. Each trip is designed to reflect AISZ’s mission of preparing students for futures rich with promise, while nurturing their capacity to lead with respect, resilience, responsibility, and kindness.

Parents can trust that Unity Days offer safe, enriching experiences that inspire students to thrive. From the first overnight in Grade 4 to the open seas in Grade 11, Unity Days embody the values and character AISZ students carry with them for life.

Health and Safety

AISZ is proud to provide comprehensive support for student well-being through its in-house medical and athletic care. Our licensed medical officer, a doctor of general medicine, is available on campus to address health concerns, provide first aid, and ensure the overall safety of our school community. This ensures that students, staff, and visitors have access to immediate and professional medical attention when needed.

Transportation

AISZ contracts with an independent local bus company, IBUS Transport, to provide transportation to students to and from the AISZ. IBUS is a DMC (Destination Management Company)  custom travel provider with 28 years of experience.

Food Services

Catering Kvatrić catering service is operating our cafeteria and is preparing fresh homemade meals using fresh ingredients from domestic farms for the staff of the school as well as for the children. Healthy and tasty lunch for students consists of soup, main meal, salad and dessert. Students (Grade 5-12) can choose "Grab & Go" meals also.
