Director's Welcome Letter

Welcome to the American International School of Zagreb

We are an MSA accredited school providing exceptional education to the expatriate, diplomatic, business and local communities or Zagreb for over 50 years. Over this time we have offered an exceptional learning environment with a close family community culture where every child is known and is an individual.

Students from over 30 countries participate in student-centered inquiry as they learn both for their immediate lives and develop skills and understandings enabling them to meet the demands of an ever changing and complex future. Students and teachers feel free to take risks and find success in new things. Without risk and challenge new learning cannot take place.

It is a place where our traditional subjects are artfully taught; and our artistic and physical disciplines envelope academically challenging insights.

We expect everyone at the school whether it is the youngest child or the most experienced teacher, to be a contributing and collaborative member of a community of learners.

Our teachers are highly qualified educators bringing with them contemporary knowledge and pedagogical insights from international and local schools. By offering a well rounded US influenced international curriculum we provide our students with opportunities to develop their passions, inquire into areas of interest for them, to ask deep and meaningful questions and strive to find solutions to them.

We are proud to be the premier internationally focused school in Zagreb and Croatia and to be contributing to the future of this beautiful country. By making explicit links to our host country where appropriate, we weave the rich culture of Croatia into our school and provide a local, as well as an international context to our learning.

We are accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges having met their demanding standards and are authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program that opens the door for our graduates to the finest colleges and universities around the world.

I welcome you to tour our website for more information, or better yet schedule a visit so you can personally experience the warmth and focus of our school.
