Middle School at AISZ is a time of discovery, identity, and growing independence — and we take that seriously. Our program is designed to meet students exactly where they are: intellectually curious, socially developing, and beginning to understand their own strengths and interests. We channel that energy into a learning environment that is both challenging and deeply supportive.
Driven by AERO standards and accredited by the Middle States Association, delivered through an inquiry framework that places student thinking at the centre of every lesson. Guided by highly trained teachers with international experience.
Across Grades 6 to 8, students develop growing independence as learners — moving from supported inquiry toward self-directed investigation. They learn to self-monitor, advocate for their needs, and contribute meaningfully to their classroom community. Advisory and pastoral support structures ensure that no student navigates this pivotal stage alone.
Middle School is also where students begin to engage more deeply with the AISZ community beyond the classroom — through CEESA athletics, outdoor education trips, Model UN, service learning, and a growing range of after-school activities.
By the time students complete Grade 8, they are ready — academically, socially, and emotionally — for the rigours of High School.
