At AISZ, community is not a word we use lightly. With 350 students in a school that spans Pre-K to Grade 12, ours is a community where everyone genuinely knows each other — where students across grade levels mix naturally, where teachers know students by name and by story, and where families feel part of something that extends well beyond the school gates.
Community life at AISZ is shaped by shared events and traditions that bring the whole school together. The 60th Anniversary Gala — held at the Sheraton Hotel Zagreb in 2026 — was a powerful reminder of just how strong the bonds are within this community, raising significant funds for the new Lower School playground while celebrating six decades of AISZ history.

School productions, sports days, community barbecues, seasonal celebrations, science fairs, art exhibitions, and charity events all contribute to a calendar that keeps the community connected and engaged throughout the year.

The physical wellbeing of our students is taken as seriously as their academic and emotional development. AISZ has a licensed medical officer — a doctor of general medicine — available on campus throughout the school day to address health concerns, provide first aid and ensure the safety of the entire school community. Students, staff, and visitors have access to immediate professional medical care at any time during school hours. Our approach to physical education and athletics is rooted in fostering long-term health, preventing injury, and building lifelong habits of wellness.

The AISZ Community Handbook is the essential guide to life at school — covering everything from daily routines and school policies to expectations around behaviour, communication, and community standards. It reflects our values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and kindness in practical, everyday terms. We encourage all new families to read it carefully as they join the community.
